National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and
Sports Video Group (SVG) Recognize Excellence in College Video Production
NEW YORK —The 2010 nominees for the College Sports Media Awards (CSMA), a competition recognizing excellence in video production at all levels of college sports, have been announced by event sponsors the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Sports Video Group (SVG). Out of more than 130 entries in three categories, the nominees represent outstanding college sports video productions from campuses across the country as well as commercial college sports videos produced by major television networks and advertising agencies.
The winners of the 2010 College Sports Media Awards will be announced at the College Sports Video Summit (CSVS) on June 8 in Atlanta. For more information about the event visit: www.CSVSummit.com
“NACDA is extremely pleased with the diversity of member institutions and conferences that submitted videos this year,” said Bob Vecchione, Deputy Executive Director of NACDA. “It is obvious by the quantity and quality of the nominations that the video content created and managed by our member institutions is becoming a value-added resource for athletic departments as they continually strive to serve their constituencies.”
“I am very impressed with the quality of entries for this year’s CSMAs, especially in the collegiate divisions,” said Tom Buffolano, College Sports Video Summit Conference Chairman. “Each year it seems that video production technology improves and becomes more affordable so that even those with smaller budgets can elevate their standard of excellence. It also is apparent that students are playing a more significant role in live remote production and post-production. This trend is encouraging as it means the next generation of production professionals is honing skills in an environment that will prepare them to be immediately successful.”
The College Sports Media Awards divide the college sports video marketplace into three categories (Collegiate 1 for schools and conferences that compete in Division 1 football; Collegiate 2 for all other schools and their conferences; Corporate/Media for broadcasters and advertising agencies), each featuring the best live events, special features, and promotional videos.
